Brussels, 23 April, 2026 — The European Fintech Association (EFA) today announced the appointment of Lucia Pecchini as its new Secretary General, marking a new phase of growth and ambition for the organisation as it continues to strengthen its role as the voice of fintechs in Europe and a key player shaping the EU’s digital finance ecosystem.
Lucia Pecchini joins the Association with extensive experience in fintech, public policy, and association leadership, bringing with her deep sector knowledge and strong relationships with leaders across the European policy space. She has been closely involved with EFA for several years, and also served as a Board Member of the Association.
In her new role as Secretary General, she will lead the Association’s work in advancing a competitive and innovative environment for fintechs in Europe, supporting members and engaging with policymakers on key regulatory and industry developments while driving a clear and future-focused digital finance agenda. She will work closely with the EFA’s Board and its appointed advisory partners Kreab to deliver on the Association’s strategic priorities.
